So my baby is 13 months..I thought I was experiencing mild postpartum, but I think the root of the problem is my hormones being horribly out of balance. i have a doc appt next week, but wanted to know if anyone else had these following symptoms as well: migraines, cramps, low energy, weepiness, and the kicker: last night i had a weird rush of odorless, clear discharge. Gross! :) I am irritable, but I think this is part of being overloaded and having less sleep. I am sure the doc will push antidepressants (which i am not against for others, but i like to go the holistic natural route), but i think i need some bloodwork done. oh yes, and my hair is falling out. I am thinking some progesterone cream will helo along with exercising...to balance myself out?? anyone with similar problems? :)

The other thing that should be checked is you thyroid. There is a condition called post partum thyroiditis that can cause some of the symptoms you describe.

Hmmmm....sounds kinda normal to me, except the migraines...hormones make you go cuckoo. My hair is STILL falling out and my daughter is going on 16months. I am tired all the time, I cannot snap out of it. I wake up and I am tired the minute I get out of bed. I feel like my hormones are finally starting to go back to normal, and I ma finally getting my sex drive back. After my son was born, it took me a good 2 years to feel normal. Like I said, my daughter is 16 months...so I hope in another 4 months I will feel completely myself again.

Tara, thanks for the reminder about iron deficiency. Pretty sure that is my problem right now. I just got back from the store, and I got a multi vitamin. I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open most days. That is not good with 2 kids. I have an extreme sensitivity to Iron, so I am gonna take a vit every other day and see how I do. Being a vegetarian for 17 years, I get iron deficiency easily if I do not watch it. But i forget about it, since I am so sensitive to it. I eat lots of greens, but I just am not getting enough.

I would get bloodwork done, including a pregnancy test. The discharge can be a sign of pregnancy, although it can also happen just before your period.
The migraines, low energy and irritability could be anemia (those were symptoms I had when I was diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia post-partum). The hair loss sounds hormonal as well. A full blood workup should help narrow things down for you.
