Hi! I have son who is 19months now but still he can only speak 1 syllable word but still not straight. He speaks bubbly that we could not understand him but he can recognize people and things already like airplane, cars, flowers, moon, stars etc. As I have read in the babies book, 18months old can now speak 2-3 words.Should i worry?

He sounds fairly normal. 2-3 words is just a guideline. Speech can blossom in just a few weeks time. If you are worried, go ahead and talk to the doctor. If you are just wondering if you 'should' worry... I'd probably let it be for a few months and see how he develops. Just keep talking to him, reading to him, pointing out the world around him, and encourage him to use his words to communicate his wants and needs.
