Hi, I'm an older mom who started over at 46 through Adoption.

It's so different raising kids when you're in your 20's and 30's compared to now when I am raising a 10 year old and setting up "playdates". Do any of you hate that you have to schedule a time to get your kids together with another one? I know times have changed, but this is sad to me.

I do want to say, I'm a much better mom this time around. More patient, life-experience, TIME. I'm determined to make a living from home so I don't miss out on years I did with my daughters. Where did those days go?

Anyway, I'm in the heart of Silicon Valley around all the "computer geeks" (that's a good thing), with Facebook, Google and Apple Computer around me. Love it here, but too expensive.

Oh, I'm also a granny! I hate that....the Grandma word.

Why do you find setting up playdates sad?? I have a 15, 13, 5yr old and one on the way and I still do this even to this day for my 15 & 13yr old and wouldn't have it any other way.

This way I always know who they are with, that they are always with adult supervision and know the parents very well so that we are all on the same page with what is allowed or not allowed for our children. When they will be dropped off, exactly when I will or the other parents will drop back home.
