Hi ladies, I'm scared to death.

Ok, so I had an ultrasound yesterday at my doctor's office. I was 8 weeks and 6days. It was on one of those little dinky portable machines. The doctor could see a gestational sac but but it was SOOO blurry and he couldn't tell if there was a baby in it. He assured me that it's just because his machine isn't powerful enough to see much, if anything, this early. But now, I'm so freaked out i have been crying since yesterday. I have another ultrasound on Thursday at the hospital for a vaginal ultrasound, and I'm going crazy waiting. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep. With my third child, I was 8wks 5 days at my first apt. My baby was so small she measured out at 5wks gestation. I had another ultrasound at 11wks 4 days, and she was normal size. She is now a healthy 7yr old little girl!

Seeing the sac but not the baby at this stage is really common. Most women don't even know they're pregnant at this stage. Try to remain calm and enjoy life before the serious pregnancy symptoms start to kick in.

Sarra, first of all - calm down. Inhale and exhale and think of the most favorite thing that you would like to do right now. What ever it is, wherever it is - just relax. Close your eyes and go there.
Ultrasounds can be unpredictable. Don't worry so much about things. Just know that everything will be fine, however it goes. You are living today, you have fond memories of yesterday and you look forward to a brand new day tomorrow. I'll pray for you, but YOU my dear friend need to remember that everything you feel affects your little one within you. So please, calm down.
Let us know how it goes and know that you are loved.

Sorry your doctor stressed you out. Really the only way to get a good picture is thru a vaginal ultrasound that early, PERIOD. You can't see enough detail with a regular ultrasound. Take a deep breath, you doctor was having a case of head up his ass, he should have known better.

The doctor shouldn't have said what he did to stress you out. Just hang in there and take care of yourself. Your baby is in there somewhere.
