So, let me get this straight, Nycola, you have a live in boyfriend, who is the father of this child, and he smokes pot, and leaves it where she can get ahold of it?
NO, my dear, leaving it in a "draw"...(what the hell is a draw, anyway? In the usage that you employed, a "draw" would be a geological feature) And even leaving it in a DRAWER, that was unlocked was stupid.
I smoke, certainly do, but my kids have NEVER SEEN ME DO IT, NOR HAVE THEY EVER KNOWN WHERE IT IS KEPT.
So, how old is the kid, and how long has she been selling?
Um, obviously they have access to it. The penalty for THAT could be that you lose your kids. Your daughter shouldn't even be able to *accidentally* get hold of it. WTF was he thinking? Clearly he wasn't. Honestly, it doesn't matter if he uses it around them or not, the fact is, he left it out for them to access. I'm also assuming he smokes it inside? Yeah, if the school reports it (where I live, they would be required to by law), you could be in for some trouble. As you should be.

It is our responsibility as parents to protect our children. Do you feel as though either one of you have done that? Your child will be suspended from school so you put her education at jeopardy, you made something illegal and harmful to her accessible, and you want to know if there are consequences? What do you think? Are you smoking it too? Your child may be taking from you and her father, how do you feel about that?
Jodi, I am going to take a moment to cool down but I will be back to post again.

Okay I myself don't smoke it and I have nothing against marijuana but when it comes to your kids, he shouldn't have it in a drawer. I won't even have that in or around my house. You would lose your kids over it. He should have in a different place under lock and key. I have to agree with the other ladies on this one.
Whether it's medical and he's prescribed or he smokes it illegally to get high... Doesnt matter. Lock it up.

I would like to also know why its down at the level a child can get to it.
I would like to know if the school called you and expelled the child.
I would like to know if child protective services is involved.
It does not sound like either of you are very smart about this.
IF he smokes it in the house the kids are going to get the residule effects of it. And cigarette smoke does not cover the smell of pot.

Well since she took it to school she can get expelled, if she tells them it's her fathers then the school can report it to child protective services, and in some place depending on how much it was it can be turned over to the police who can pursue criminal charges. Obviously where her father was keeping it was accessible to the children which is a concern, don't be surprised if she starts smoking it after you go to bed to dince she has access to it.
Yes, I read that too. I do question, however, whether you can actually read my posts. Clearly she has access to the drawer. She can get to it. Stop making excuses. There is absolutely no excuse for your daughter getting hold of your boyfriend's weed other than that he was STUPID enough to leave it in a place she could get to it.
Um, yeah, I read that bit. How the heck did she *accidentally* get hold of it? This was no accident, this was a careless parent.
Did you read my post? it will probably be reported. I am not sure of the penalty, but seriously, your kid takes your drugs to school? You will probably have Child Protection on your doorstep.
