Time for the full disclosure talk. He's 12. we started addressing this subject early on with our boys, because we didn't want them to get into the same situation as their dad did when he was young...

The more willing and open you are with your kids, the more likely they are to be open with you as they get older.

By 12 he should have had a full detailed sex ed talk... puberty, intercourse, birth control, pregnancy, stds, reasons to WAIT until adulthood... anything and everything. Some kids his age are becoming parents....

If he's 12, I think you'll find he already knows a bit about sex from the school yard! You really should have been talking to him about it already.

if he is 12 i think its time to explain about the birds and the bees and everything in between children are starting to find things out about sex younger and younger and chances are he already knows the basic information personally i would be straight about sex love and the diseases maybe not so bluntly but at least with this knowledge he wont make any big decisions with out the correct facts.

what age is your son?? my advice no matter what age keep the answer simple, keep it as near the truth but also keep it age appropiate if he is any older than ten i think its time to touch on the sex talk dont forget be honest or they will be taking up tips and advice from friends. i remember my mum got me a book on explaining your body and sex it was for around 11 yrs and older to help explain these kind of topics hope this helps
