Histamine Intolerance, Phytates and Salicylates in relation to Mood disorders

As a 61yo aspie who was recently self diagnosed and who has a lifelong history of trying to fix my health, I refer you to the Histamine Intolerance diet by Janice Joneja. For myself I improved some but also had to remove foods with salicylates and phytates. I found all contributed to an unbelievable list of ever worsening physical symptoms and uncontrollable/worsening mood disturbances, even recently some hallucinations and life threatening events precipitated by chronic adrenal exhaustion. My symptoms in childhood were constantly being sick, serious allergies, learning disabilities and depression (and a lot of anger). Also early was that my pupils did not easily dialate (always pinpoint)even at the eye doctor or in the dark. Also muscle spasms and skin problems. This disorder is associated with bowel dysfunction and a lack of necessary enzymes to properly digest such foods. After 30 years on disability I may finally be able to go to normal!!! Please let me know if this is helpful or if you have any questions. For some people the histamine intolerance diet may be enough but I have had to drop the amount of phytates and salicylates also to finally start to return to normal. Watch out for those night shades as they may cause hallucinations. HIT is insinuated as the actual cause in some cases of schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. Aspies don't do well on drugs, alternative has worked well for me, but especially diet. I hope you don't mind me putting my two cents in here as I am not a mom, but I have never seen HIT in pertaining to ASD, tho I have seen mood and salicylates per ADHD and serious mood disturbance/anger. If I can offer any further insight please let me know. This has changed my life! And having wasted 60 years I'd like to see that no one else go thru what I have if it can be avoided. Linda
