Is it possible to home birth in NSW? Has anyone done it and how was it organised?

That's what I did with second and third - I figured that the less time I was there the better! Be warned though - my second bub was born 4 minutes after I walked into the hospital, and I only live 5 minutes from the hospital! I've been told that second bubs tend to be in a hurry :o) Good luck!

im blue mountains. Im thinking the best I may be able to do in my area is stay at home until I know baby is coming then go out to the hospital, im only up the road... I dont want to go through the full experience there again as last time was not such a gracious birthing experience.

Were in NSW are you? If you are in the Newcastle/Hunter area there is a FANTASTIC midwife service run from the John Hunter and Belmont Hospitals that will do home births. Under medicare.
