Hello all mums,

Can anyone please suggest me a good home remedy for viral fever ?
My child is going to be two years old next week. He has running nose, cough( very little) , fever( buy fever goes up and down).
I consulted with doctor and she suggested me the calpol. Calpol only down the fever. After every 6-7 hours fever comes n goes.

Doctor asked me of other symptoms like vomiting, rashes, sore throat etc. but all these are not here by god grace. But my child weight is going down.

Please suggest me any good tip and remedy. I am badly worried for my child.

Thanks to all you my dear friends mums in advance.

Thanks and regards,
Mrs. Rajni

Hey Ram,

Unfortunately viral infections/fevers cannot be treated with antibiotics. Viral fevers have to run the course and within a day or so it tends to get better. From all my experience, 3 teenagers and working in a hospital, you keep up their fluids, give them cool baths or sponge baths, and alternate Tylenol/Motrin every 4 hours. Motrin you can give every 8 hours but Tylenol you can give half way between those doses. Try and give your child popsicles, clear soup, Jell-O, and water to keep his/her fluids up. REST is the best thing to recover from any ailment. I hope this helps you.

Anytime. I know this is scary and we want to find something to fix what is hurting our babies....even at an adult age. Take care!
