Home work stolen by a classmate

Hi ,

One day my daughter had to leave for a ortho.app and she left her finished writing @class . The next day when she submitted the notebook for grading, her work was missing.Knowing my daughter's work ethic teacher suspected something is amiss. She closly examined the notebook and the pages were ripped. She tols the class to admit who didit otherwise she will take them to principle , then the kid who had ripped the page admitted her action . The kid was punished by the teacher by taking away certain privileges at the school.unfortunately I know the kids parents for a long time and a bit acword to see them. the question is what do I need to expect from the kids parent say or do
when we cross each other which happens quite often. How do I get over the incident , which I still find it difficult to belive could occur between school kids of this young age.

Then you should just drop it. Like I said, she knows she made a mistake and probably won't do it again.
She probably just took the opportunity that was there because she couldn't be bothered doing the work herself. Kids don't think through consequences but they do learn by making mistakes.

thank you Michelle. Yes for your second question Yes the parents of the other kid know about the incident because school called and updated them about the incident .

Have you spoken to the parents at all about it? Do they know what happened?
If you haven't even talked about it then I suggest you do. Clear the air and then move on. It's not a major thing to keep dwelling on it really.
Kids make mistakes, get over it. I'm sure the other child has learned a lesson and won't do it again.
