Homemade baby formula?

My son is three months old I started out breastfeeding but I ran into some issues with my milk supply and had to switch to formula, I have tried so many kinds of formula with little to no luck. My son is constantly constipated. The elders in my family keep telling me to try carnation milk and karo syrup with infant vitamin drops, that's how it was done back in the day.Has anyone ever tried the old school method? What are your thoughts?

There is an easier way to deal with constipation then making your own formula. There have been SO many advances with formula even from when my oldest was born 17 yrs ago to today. So much research has gone into what a baby needs for proper brain and growth development that has been put into formula today that was not there years ago. You can do today's infant formula with 1 teaspoon of karo syrup daily to help with constipation. Talk to your doc. some brands of formula work better then others also with constipation.....Good Start is one that often times works better.

Talk to your pediatrician. He can help you find the right formula or treatment for constipation. There are reasons that these old school method are not advisable.
