We love homeschooling! My oldest daughter has ADHD and disgraphia this played a big part in our decision to homeschool. We knew at public school she probably would not have been able to keep up with the pace the teacher was moving. So we started at home and it has been such a blessing in our lives.

Yep I have extremely detailed records since starting. Though it is not required my kids are still up to date on standardized testing.

Just keep in mind that it is a good idea to keep doing some sort of standardized testing to make sure your kids are on track academically. If you plan to home-school thru 12th grade and your kids want to go to college, they will need to take the ACT or SAT and have a diploma or GED. Some colleges want detailed transcripts from home-schooled kids. Keep good records.

No lol I've been homeschooling for 5 years now my kids have always been at home with me for school. I follow my own schedule as long as I accomplish the 180 days required by May 31 everything works out fine honestly most school years we are over 180 days. I live in Ms there are absolutely no homeschool requirements in this state you fill out an enrollment card that's it. No evals no testing. I just moved here I decided I was going to ship my binders back to Pennsylvania where I'm from to have my regular evaluator do all of that anyway just so I had it for my own records.

"Yeah super busy with school starting and I have not had enough time to take care of all of that yet".....
Is this your first homeschooling experience? If you are following a traditional calendar, you need to have your curriculum and lesson plans prepared, as well as know you schedule. What state do you live in?
