It is hard for us to tell you if it is a good idea or not. We don't know your son. We don't know the reasons why you are considering this. We don't know your situation. Some questions I would ask yourself would be why do you want to remove him from his current school and home school for just 1 or 2 years? What would the benefits be? Taking him out for 1 or 2 years to only put him back into that school may do more harm then good. The other kids in his class are going to grow together as a class in those 1 to 2 years. Your son is going to be left out of that. Are you going to follow the schools curriculum those 1 to 2 years? If not, how will your son fit back into the school system if the curriculum was different? Is he going to have a harder time readjusting back into the school? How is he with transition and routine? Will changing how schooling is being done make it harder for him to adjust back into going to school? For me personally it would be hard to find the support that doing home school for just 1 or 2 years would be a benefit. But as stated at the beginning of the post it is hard to give advise when we don't know your child or your situation.
