I dont know how it works at the hospital where you live, but when i had our son i only had to take with a pair of clothes for the baby for the day we left. The hospital provided everything for the baby, clothes, diapers, formula, one use bottles, cream for babys face..etc. They also had pads and special net panties for me. Incase the hospital doesnt provide you with all those things, heres a list of what you can pack.
Clothes for baby(socks, leggins, bodys etc) a blanket for baby, bottles and formula incase you cant breastfeed.Newborn diapers,a pacifier and the carseat for when you leave the hospital. Take some comfy clothes with for yourself, everything you need for showering(shampoo etc) incase they dont have pads make sure you get alot of pads because of the bleeding afterwards. If you like to wear make up you can also pack that. Some slippers to walk around. Cd with music for during labor. And dont forget a camera! :) If your husband is staying with you at the hospital he should just take with clothes for himself and also shower stuff and toothbrush etc. And dont worry, incase you forgot something your hubby or family and friends can still bring you stuff. Good luck

clothes are a must :) Diaper rash cream, boppy pillow comes in handy, pacifier... they will give you swaddle blankets at the hospital but once the baby is older the zipadee zip is the best sleep sack. They pretty much provide mostly everything for you while you are there which is great.
