I would definitely enlist my son's participation for helping you with your cleaning. After all he lives in your house and he and your husband should be pitching in with you. You work too, the cleaning shouldn't just fall on your shoulders. Make a list of what needs to be done and have them choose what they want to help out with. That way it's not you telling them they have to do this or that. I give my 13 yo daughter 4 options of what she wants to do. She hates dusting her room. So she chooses cleaning the bathroom sinks instead. I also give her $20 dollars per week when she finishes her responsibilities. I give her money because it gives her spending money and I also teach her how to save for big items and to give to charity.
