I also agree with lindsey, at this point, enjoy the bonding time with your child while it lasts before instead of worrying if you have a clean house it's, oh god what have they got into now

I make a list of all the things that need to be done and just cross them off as I go. Personally I get so scatter brained ill fold two shirts, then go wash 4 dishes then vacuum half a room. Having a list helps me a lot because I focus on one chore at a time and for whatever reason it gets done faster. I also made a chart and clean certain rooms on certain days, it helps me feel less overwhelmed
Another tip mommy to mommy is enjoy baby and don't worry too much over a slightly dirty house :)

I have discovered that looking at the whole messy house that needs to cleaned all at once is just too over whelming..if you are a list user do that if it helps divide the jobs into micro jobs..if you don't have time to clean the kitchen and wash up and sweep maybe you do have time to put away everything from breakfast, quickly wipe the bench top, stack the dishes neatly.. In 3 separate tiny steps your kitchen looks pretty good..
Then when you have another 10 mins you can do another task and you can clearly see what you can achieve next..
My personal style is to form habits linking something you have to do with something you are going to do anyway.. I tidy my bathroom when I go for a shower, hang the towels, washing in the hamper quick clean of the toilet wipe the handbasin with a washer.. Takes literally 3minuites then I have my shower... When the kettles boiling for breakfast in the morning I unpack the dishwasher .. Automatically the dishes don't pile up.. I fold the washing when my girls are in the bath... I can chat And watch them and another job is done.. With these basic jobs done, when I have time to do the bigger jobs, moping windows clean the bath room I can just get onto them with out having to do the little stuff first.. And not only that with the bath room tidy the thought of cleaning the głass and shower and floors doesn't look like a gaint task just 3 quick little steps

organisation and storage containers are wonderful ,I try to maintain the mess... nothing on the floors or furniture... dirty cloths in the baskets .. spot cleaning a little each day( when you see it clean it right then and there) and once a week a big clean up floors, walls, clothes, dusting as for the dishes ... i let them pile up if i dont have time too do them and wash them at the end of the day .... If you can afford find a local who will come in and help for cheap one day a week .. just to do the bathroom, toilets and floors... or when i was younger and not working i had friends and we would get together and help each other out.
I also have rules with my kids that help maintain the house like No eating on carpeted areas, no toys in the lounge room,
I find that having a place for everything is a necessity and removing clutter... ifu havent used it in 6 months then get rid of it ... if its broken also get rid of it

I was in the same spot a while ago considering my kids are 11 months apart, so I had a newborn, an 11 month old, a dirty house, and my husband is military so he's not around 9 hours of the day. Trying to keep a clean house, get the laundry done, and doing the dishes was super hard for the first few months. You get into a routine after a while or what i do is I have a laundry day, a vacuum day, a dust day ect. So at the end of the week you have 80-90% of a house kept in good order. I found some awesome cleaning schedules on pinterest that helped me stay more organized while everything was in disarray for a while.

when my son was younger it was really hard. Now he can sit and play with toys with his brother for longer periods of time while i am cleaning around him.
when he was little and took two naps a day i did all the cleaning while he was sleeping. i also split the rooms up into days. like Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday i did the kitchen, living room and downstairs bathroom. On Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday i did laundry, dusted, and the upstairs bathroom. The bedrooms i just kept generally clean as i went throughout the day and vacuumed the whole house every other day.

I live on a dirt road so dust is extra bad! I never thought of cleaning the bathroom during bath time! My sister has a 3 year old and he sings the clean up song while picking up toys and likes to put his dishes in the sink! If you have more kids i think its fun to see who can pick up toys faster!!

I have hard wood floors and I swear I sweep 100 times a day because my boys are so darn messy and my house is so dusty. I've learned to clean the bathroom during bath time and use the soapy water my toddlers splash and dump on the floor to mop. My next goal is to come up with ways to make cleaning fun so as my boys get older they can help and we'll have more time for fun stuff!

Poor guy :( I agree with you a messy house isnt so bad as long as it isnt unsanitary for the baby my daughter is moving around do I make sure small things are picked and the floor stays vacuumed id get into the habit of doing that now bc once they start moving theres no stopping them!

By the time its nap time im exhausted! My son is dealing with gastrointestinal issues so he only takes a 30 minute nap during the day and is fussy the rest of the day:( i would just rather cuddle him to comfort him than clean! I just feel stressed when my house is a mess!

Wear your baby! My youngest is 6 weeks and his brothers will be 2 in August. Baby wearing has saved my life. No worrying about the baby getting squished or crying while I'm trying to do laundry or vacuum or pick up toys. No need to buy an expensive baby carrier. Get like 6 yards of jersey knit fabric and cut it down the middle so it's 2 super long pieces and tie it like a moby. Think of housework as a way to work out. Take it one chore at a time. Those are some of the things that help me when I have too many lazy days in a row. :)
