My 11 month old is mostly very happy. However, if he's got something that he can't play with or is into something and I take it away from him he screams until he is out of breath and tightens up like a board.. I feel so guilty and want to just die:( my fiance tells me to just sit him down until he stops so he will learn, but I feel so mean... can anyone help me break him of freaking out like that

Dear Haley,
The tantrums never really stop, we just learn as mums to breath in through the nose and out through the mouth and hum a little tune ........ :)

Give it time don't give into it. Unfortunately there's plenty more tantrums and screaming to come. But you have to stick to your guns because it will only get worse otherwise. If you give in he'll just keep doing it because he'll know that's how to get his own way. Just do what you do and try to calm him down as your partner has said. I know it's scary but there's not a whole lot you can do apart from trying to calm him without giving in.
