How can I change my son's naps? HELP!

My (almost) 5 month son takes 4 forty-five to one-hour naps a day. His bedtime is at 7 and he does one or two dream feeds at night. He is usually up at 7. What am I doing wrong?! How can I get him to take 2 or 3 LONGER naps? Please help! I'm going back to work and need his naps longer for the babysitter.

I don't think it's possible to change a child's natural rhythm. Why can't a babysitter deal with a cat napper? I'd be getting a new baby sitter....

I had a child that napped twice a day for about 2 hours and then a 30ish minute nap in the evening at that age. Then I had a child who's normal nap time was 20 minutes and would only occasionally nap for as long as 45 minutes. That napping 'pattern' continued until he was only napping once a day and then he'd nap anywhere from 5 minutes to 3.5 hours.
