How can I get my 18 month old twins down to one nap?

Keep them busy. My first son stopped napping completely (except for in the car) at around 20 months. It depends on the child though.

When do they usually nap? If they are use to having one late morning and one mid to late afternoon for example, try taking the morning one away and move up the afternoon one to right after lunch or something.

I agree w/ Bonnie if they are ready for the transition.

My twins went down to one nap around 16 months. They would've quit napping right at 2, but mama wasn't ready so I resorted to driving them to sleep EVERY day for 6 months. By 2.5... I wasn't interested in wasting the gas, so they only napped at rare random.

I don't remember when my son quit having 2 naps, but he was never a 'scheduled' napper and didn't nap more than 20-45 minutes at a time until he was having one nap/day. Then his naps ranged anywhere from 5 minute to 3.5 hours! He's 3.5 now and naps at preschool one day/week and in the van (hopefully) 2 times/week regularly.

Why do you want too?? If they want or need more than that I would keep them on 2 naps.

My child at that age was at 1 nap a day but it lasted 2 hours, depending if your child got enough sleep that night, and or how much activities that toddler did that day, or it could be a growth spurt
