All these articales talk about potty training but they only comment on the pee pee part of it. He has been peeing in the potty for almost 3 years now. He just refuses to poop there. He says he doesn't want to stop what he is doing to go. We have tried everything. Taking toys away, spankings, yelling, making charts with stickers, buying small toys when he poops, giving him books to read while he's in there, showing him how, etc. We are out of options here!!! He has been in big boy undies for awhile but we can't afford to keep buying more. He will be in K next year and this needs to stop. It has effected his PreK now being sent home bc of it. It is making us nuts bc we feel like there is nothing more we ca do. We are afraid to take him to church or dinner, etc bc of it. Please help.

Yes. I am aware he needs to be going by now. Hence my concern!!! That's the thing. We have been trying this for a long time now. We do make him sit there for awhile and when we ask him if he has to go he says no. Bc he doesn't want to tell us bc he doesn't want to "waste" his time. I am looking for new ways to try and help.
