I play this game with my 2yr old. My turn, your turn. I get on the floor with one of his favorite toys. The more ppl you get to help the better. I start out playing with the toy until he comes over to me (and trys to snach it saying MINE lol) then I say. Do you want to "share" this toy with mommy? Ok you can "share" this toy with me...ITS YOUR TURN...and I give it to him to play with for a minute or two. Then I say, can you share with mommy now? which he may say no at first, or MINE. Try saying please, can you share with mommy...ITS MY TURN to play (then gently take it from him. If he pitches a fit just redirect him to sit and wait a few seconds...then say ok I will "share" this toy with you... ITS YOUR TURN now, and go back & forth like that. He may not take to it the first few times you play...but be consistant everytime...play 2 or three times a day (at diff times) do this with everything your wanting him to share...books, spoons, whatever it is....let him hear you say the words "share" alot while your going through this & he will eventualy pick up on it!! Good Luck!!

A one year old is not going to understand the concept of sharing. If your child takes something from another child just say no so and so was playing with that, we have to wait till he's done and then distract him with another toy.

You can try it if you want. I started trying at 18 months with my now 7 year old. But she didn't really take to it until she was at her babysitters' and succumbing to peer pressure. Because other kids were using the toilet too.
