I join this site out of desperation. At first I wanted my six week old baby to increase her sleep from 3hours to 4hours but since Sunday this has all changed and she now wakes up every 1hour. I bottle fed and she drinks well. She also burps well but only have a dirty nappy every 36 hours which I am told are pretty normal as long as her poo is soft and she doesn't struggle to pass it - which she doesnt. Please can anybody help on how to get her to sleep for four hours between feeds?

Yeah, Amy nailed it on the head. This stage just takes a lot of patience. It will definitely get better and this will all be a distant memory soon! Hang in there, mama.

Sleep patterns change all the time and at 6 weeks old 2-3 hours is a lot more common than 4. There tummies are so tiny that they need to eat often. It will get better but I would continue to just follow her lead right now.

Thanks for the replies on my previous question. I have since then change her formula and is now giving Novalac. She is sleeping much better, we are on a 3 - 4hour cycle. I think she remained hungry on the previous formula S26 Gold. However, she now from time to time struggles with constipation and to help her along I give her a sachet of Probiotics in her first bottle of the day. Does anyone knows whether this is fine and whether I can continue doing it on a daily basis? Apart from this she is a bundle of joy! :-)
