How can I get my baby to sleep through the night?

Two months old is early for sleeping through the night. Are you getting 4-6 hour chunks of sleep? That's about average for the age. At about three months my son started giving me 6-8 hour chunks. What helped was giving my son an additional 2ounces of formula after he finished nursing. The additional nourishment helped him make it a little longer at night time. By four months he was sleeping through the night regularly without the help of the extra formula.
Have you established a regular night time routine for baby. My son's routine consisted of getting into pjs, nursing in the rocking chair in his room with classical music playing. We continue this routine, minus the nursing, to this day, he's 7.
Is baby swaddled during sleep? Some babies move a lot during sleep, and wake themselves. A good swaddle might help keep baby sleeping. But don't do it if you find it irritates baby.
Be patient, I know it seems like you'll never sleep again, but you will.

How old? What sleep environment have you set up?
Try a vaporizer.... The steam opens airways, even without the Vicks, the gentle noise, acts like white noise to them. Follow the directions, set it up safely and all that. Good luck

We tried swaddling but she seems irritated by it.
No, we have not established a routine. Wind / gas seems to be a big problem and is both irregular and disturbing and upsets attempts to set up an evening / nightime routine.
When our baby was born she was 3 weeks premature and in the hospital they established a 3 hourly feed pattern which is pretty close to how she feeds now. So nothing like 4 to 6 hours chunks, unfortunately :(
