I have a 4 year old mixed black/hispanic daughter. I have tried so many different products in her hair. Her hair is not growing at all, it never has. No matter what I use it still seems to dry out and frizz up into a fro. What can I do to help it grow and stay smooth and soft?!

Michelle you said to stop putting things in her hair. and to leave it as is. Do you have mixed race children? Do you understand how hard it is to deal with the hair? I was asking what I could do to not only help it grow but to stay smooth and soft. But thank you for your reply, good day.

You were asking what to use to make it grow, I replied there wasn't anything to make it grow.
Maybe you should have asked what you can use to keep it hydrated, that would have got the responses you were after.

Thank you Sarah E! I def. will be looking for someone that specializes in ethnic hair. That would be very useful. It's just hard when I do not have the same type of hair as she and I've never had to deal with that until I had her. She was born with straight, fine, soft hair and now it is completely different. Thanks again for your help and advice!

Kaitlin, hair grows from the inside, not the outside. My youngest is 12!, yes 12 and still has baby fuzz at her hairline and is finally got what I would describe as a full head of hair. She was bald, bald, bald until 2, and then slowly her hair grew in. Thin and fine, but it did grow.
If you are struggling to keep her hair healthy once it is growing, maybe take her to a hair dresser who specializes in "ethnic" hair. I mean no disrespect with that term. I know that there are some cultural tricks to keep hair shiny, moisturized and prevent breakage. If that does not help, maybe a dermatologist?

Michelle Waldbillig, I have to use SOMETHING in her hair. I cant just do without. She doesn't have "mixed" hair, it's as if she were full black. It dries out too fast and gets really knotted up if I go without. So that is not an option. I use a lot of leave in conditioners. Thanks for your reply.

Stop using things on her hair!
There's nothing that will make hair grow so leave it alone. She's only 4 and you are probably making it worse.
Just use a good shampoo and conditioner and learn how to do her hair the way it, instead of wishing for something it's not.
