how can i get my son away from his cup at night??

my son is 17months old and still waking up frequently in the middle of the night for his cup and wont go back to sleep with out it, i change his diaper everytime he wakes up and he still manages to pee in the bed im sick of having to wash the sheets and blankets everyday and ive already tried plastic pants, how did yall go about not letting your LO drink at night?

There is no easy answer I never had this problem because I never gave a cup at night. If you really want it gone you may have to just take it away and have a few rough nights till he learns to fall asleep without it. Wish I could offer an easier solution.

What is he drinking? I usually only give water at night so babies aren't usually waking up to get the water unless they're really thirsty. I would encourage more fluid intake during the day. Also, we put the babies in the next size up diaper for nights. That seems to help. It may just be habit too that he is waking up. You could just try to give him half of what you give him currently and slowly decrease it. Hope some of this helps.
