My baby is only three weeks old and I've been pumping my breast milk, but I am not producing as much, only around 8 oz daily. Is this normal?

Thank you for your reply. I've been pumping because the minute she is in my breasts she falls as sleep and does not get enough. Also because I wouldn't be able to do anything around the house since she's always hungry. So I found out that putting the breast milk in bottle I actually see that she's getting what she wants and she gets full.

A pump is no indication of supply, and is not as effective as your baby. Is there a reason you're pumping? Also how often are you pumping, you should be pumping as often as your baby is feeding. I didn't pump till I returned to work but I noticed my supply decreased, I realized it was because I was literally going all day without drinking water, so I made it a point to drink at least a litre and a half of water.
