"How can I make my cervix more Favorable for Labor?" LOL your cervix has nothing to do with it my dear.

It's your Uterus that will say yeah or neah. Todays chances are you might have a C-section more then natural child birth.

Best Advise, if it "aint broke" don't "F" with it. Don't try any B.S. stuff and let your body do what the drugs tell it to do.

i'm really just repeating wat the other moms already said....sex.....and a warm bath. don't get the water too warm. i was threated with induction my last pregnancy. the night before i place a couple pieces of aloe in some water and left it overnight in the refrigerator, then drank it in the morning. i read that the aloe causes the uterus to contract. anyway by 4pm that day my water broke. i know u were asking about pelvis but i thought that might help too

eat some spicy food, drink lots of water and go for a long walk.........if you can find a tread mill, try the down hill mode, walking downwards like a hill positions you to induce labor better

HELP: Isn't aloe bad in pregnancy? Need help please! I am due on 27th may and I have had 2 c sections before and I can't be induced due as it increases the risk of uterine rupturem! I have asked for a vbac and my doctor is very supportive of that but I need to go into labour myself till my due date as they will no let pass that date. I cannot have another c section as I am traumatised by it, I was told that aloe brings contractions but I want to know if its safe. Any sugestions are wellcomem thatnk you.

I disagree with everyone. Just let nature take its course. It is your body it will respond accordingly and if it doesn't just let the medical staff take good care of you They have delivered 100's babies.
Have faith.
Be relaxed and you have a lot to look forward to.

Do NOT get induced unless it is absolutely medically necessary for your health or your baby's health. An UNNEEDED induction is the fastest way to an UNNEEDED cesarean section. Baby will come when baby's good and ready.

Not to put a dampener on it but tried everything and still had to be induced with both of my boys as they were 15 and 16 days overdue respectively and mother nature wasn't doing what it's supposed to do! Obviously I haven't had a natural labour but induction wasn't that bad!! Hope all goes well for you and your baby! xx

I agree with most of the moms, sex is a good way to soften the cervix. The sperm lubricates the canal to make it easier for the baby to come out. If it is uncomfortable try being on top so you can control the amount of weight put on you. Also, try a relaxing bath, make sure the water is not too hot though. and remember to breath, the baby will be born no matter what, good luck and congratulations.

I agree with Alison...I went through the whole induction and it sucks...if i had to do it over I would have just been patient and yes sex will soften the cervix. My last doctor's appt before I had my daughter my doctor told me to go home and get after it if I wanted to have this baby. LOL

Why induce? It is so much better when you let your body decide it is ready. Pitocin contractions can be horrible, can increase the severity of tearing and increase the rate of c-section. Maybe patience is a better route... Of course, I always did some accupressure too. Google it!

I ate pineapple like crazy when I was prego and that did not work. I ate it because of cravings not b/c I heard it made the cervix softer. Yep totally agree with the other women though. Sex is the only way to go. It may be a bit uncomfortable but it will be the last time for several weeks anyways:P Good luck!

Sex... more sex and more sex. Well really all you need is the sperm... thats the important part!.

Quoting Amelia:

fresh pineapple..eat it, lots of it.

Really?  That's a new one for me.

I was told having sex would help, but honestly, by that point I didn't want to have sex.

Sex! Tjere is a chemical in sperm that helps to soften the cervix and can actually induce labor itself!

Good luck :)
