I have a son turning two this October. My problem is how can i remove his habit that when he wakes up late at night he keep on saying *Mama dede*. When I ignore that he keep on crying. Approximately he can consume 6 bottles of milk , 3 of that is 5 oz and the last three is 7 oz. His weight is almost 18 kilos though his only 1 year and 11 months. He eat rice three times a day and two snacks. he loves vegetables especially broccoli.

You have nothing to worry about. That was the toddlers stages that they were easily to attract foods. My son was two year old and two months and he has 19 kilos as of now.He loves fruits and veggies too.His pedia says that was normal. You can give him a bottle of milk before going to bed so he did not asked another when he got awake early night because he is still full.

I would get rid of the bottles. Often times kids drink more when liquids are given in a bottle. Also only allow him to drink when seated at the table. Kids also will drink more if they are carrying around the bottle or sippy. At his age he only needs about 3 glasses (4 ounces each) of milk a day. The rest should be coming from his food. If he is drinking too much milk in a day he may not be getting enough food to fill him up long term. What I do to help cut down on the amount my kids drink is when we have a meal. They get a glass of milk. They must eat all or most of their food before getting another glass of milk at that same meal time. This helps so they are not drinking their meals and instead are eating a balanced diet. His diet should be much like ours just smaller portions.....so getting 3-4 servings of fruits and veggies a day and 1-2 servings of meat a day. This will also help keep him full and drinking less milk. It is important he gets his milk each day, but you want to make sure it is the right amount as too much of one thing is never good.

Does he only get plain rice to eat 3 times a day? do you ever give him pasta or food with potato?I am just wondering if he maybe needs food that would fill him abit more that he wouldnt be to hungry in the night..
