My daughter wont fall asleep in her cot on her own, she either screams and screams the minute i put her in the cot or wakes up completely n starts playing and laughing! she does this even if she has been asleep on me for 30 mins or more! Also her bedtime is getting later and later every night, she has been sleeping through since she was 6wks old, she doesnt seem to sleep until about 11.30 to 12am every night but sleeps until 9am, she hardly sleeps during the day either! any advice would be much appreciated please :) and sorry for the long question!! xx

She sounds very active, my daughter is the same way. What I did when she was that age and still to this day is give her a bath, get her pjs on, and either read her a story or sing a song (she also has 2 nightlights in her room). The bath will make her feel clean and cozy ready for bed time, and the reading is a repetitive action that lets her know it's time for bed every night. You need to be consistant with the time that you put her to sleep every night. If you want to have mommy time, than you need to get her in bed by 8:30-9. Also, if you are a stay at home mom, hopefully she is not inside all of the time, and get her outside at least 1-2 hours per day, weather permitting. I would also maybe try music, Enya is very relaxing; or try a cheap cd from the baby section lullabies. Hopefully I helped a little. Good Luck.
