Feed her healthy food. A 12 year old shouldn't need to be on a *diet*, but should be eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Cut the processed crap, refined carbohydrates and sugar out of her diet and she shouldn't have any weight problems at all. But that's not a diet, that's living healthily. Also, make sure she gets some exercise and isn't just sitting around all day. Involve her in some sport or something.
