Hi, I'm Miranda. I have 2 daughters already. First is 3,5 years and second is 1,5 years old. But actually, on my second pregnancy i really want to have a baby boy. I've heard from lot of people that we can prepared our pregnancy which we want a boy or girl. Is it true? If it is true, then how? Some people said that our (both husband and wife) daily food, what kind of food that we can or not to eat. And also some people said we can count from our monthly period. If you know what i suppose to do, please give me a reply. Will you? Thank everyone. Merry Christmas 2009 and Happy New Year 2010. God Bless You All.

When we were having a 2nd child, our first was a girl and we wanted a boy, we read that positions help guarantee a boy. There is a book or articles or something about different positions that help get the gender you want. It worked for us!

Here is the theory. Male sperm are lighter & swim faster, but die quicker. Female sperm are slower, and live longer. The closer you time sex to ovulation the greater the chances of having a boy, in theory.

Say you are going to ovulate on the 25, but have sex on the 23th your odds are higher for a girl, if you have sex on the 25th, & 26th it suggests a little higher chances of a boy. Sperm can live inside you for about 72 hours when the conditions are right, so with that being said if you have sex 1 or two days before ovulation the majority of the sperm still alive in your system will be female sperm....does this make sense the way I am explaining it? They also suggest the man from behind position to get his sperm as close as possible to your cervix. To find out where you should ovulate in your cycle go to, they have got a really easy to understand ovulation print out.

My husband & I are trying for a boy also!

I neither believe in old wives tales nor modern science. What you get is what you get. Just relax and let nature take its course. Don't fool around with mother nature or you could regret it. You may not believe in the following but I do: I learned that since the 50's and 60's scientist made it possible for women to "choose"/"force" their chids gender. That practice continues today. I greatly believe that because of that practice, the gay community was created and has grown tremendously. Gays are correct to say they feel trapped in the wrong bodies. They were supposed to be one gender but because of modern science they got stuck in another body. You decide.

In the late 60's there was an article about choosing the sex of your child. They said it had to do with the atmosphere of the vagina. Acid or alkaline. They said you could do a douch of one or the other to make the atmosphere the one appropriate for the sex you wanted. I don't know if your docter would know about that or not. I can't remember the magazine. It was a woman's magazine. I was happy with girls so if I kept the article it is in the attic in the cold. Surely a docter, especially a woman will know something about this or know how to look it up. Good luck. Of course their is always adoption to be certain. Lot of little children out there needing loving parents.

I'm not gay by the way. I have 3 kids (1 boy and 2 girls); and 5 grandkids. Just thank the Lord for what you have.

You could do Caroleees option or you can have his sperm sorted. its not as certain but its better than leaving it up to nature.

If you do everything naturally, then it's all up to what your partner.. Ahem.. "Spits out", to put it nicely. You can go to a fertility clinic and have testing done like Carolee suggested, but I don't really know why anyone would do that. Personally, I would be fine with whatever I had/have. I wanted a girl the first time around and had a boy instead. Now that I have had a boy, I could care less if I ever have a girl. Yeah, it would be nice to have another female in the house, but as long as I have happy, healthy babies, I don't mind if they are a boy or a girl.. But that's just me.

Those are just old wives tales, none of them could ever possibly work. The sex of the child is determined by the sperm, and whether its dna contains two xs or an x and a y. There is nothing you can do to control the sex of your child, but if you are a supersticious person, and want to try those things for fun, go ahead, just dont expect it to work. :)

Have sex and hope for a boy. There's no way to be 100% sure. There are old wives tales, some with a bit of science behind it (like having sex right when you are ovulating as male sperm are fast but die quicker as something posted).

The only way to be absolutely sure is to go to a fertility clinic and have genetic testing done on some eggs that you and your husband had fertalized that are then implanted into your uterus and hope that a viable pregnancy comes of it. Other than that, it's pretty much just old wive's tales and hope.
