How did you handle being pregnant at work and strangers asking personal questions?

I am a married 22 year old petite, African American, working college student, but I barely look 16!! At work people would often ask me all kinds of personal questions about my pregnancy and lifestyle and blah blah blah.. I wanted to haul off and slap all of these invasive people! I was answering 60 some personal questions a day! All the same questions and in the same line up! I even had a lady ask me if my "baby daddy" was happy! I had to check her then and there. I do NOT have a baby daddy. I informed her that I had a full time student/working, college student and a father for my child. For some reason she thought i was lying so she chuckled and walked off. I couldn't be angrier. I even had a lady try and figure out my age. She asked about something that happened in 1984(i'm a 90's baby)!! THe only reason why I took my leave a week and a half early was because I couldn't take anymore invasive questions from strangers!!

This was so annoying to me also! I'm sorry some people have zero boundaries. I'm 27 and people would ask me things like "aren't you a little young to have a baby?" He said I looked 18. So? What business is it of theirs!? Yeesh! I would list all the ridiculous questions, but it would go on and on. I hope you've come up with a good response :) I'm still working on mine!

The funny thing is once I have the baby and return to work people are STILL going to ask about her. smh.. My sister told me that i can't win unless I am willing to get mean with people..

See.. I was stuck behind the register most of the time. I would try and ignore the question and they would persist or follow me to talk. Strangling them was so tempting. TAKE A HINT!!

I worked at a gas station when I was pregnant with my daughter. Once I started showing, I would have people come up to me and make some pretty rude comments. Most of the time I would just let it go and ignore them (the whole "kill them with kindness" thing) and if that didn't work, I got rude with them.

I shruged them off and walked away without a responce. (ok, ok, I *occasionally* flipped them off) Sometimes we lack a filter and are curious by human nature, but it does get hard when you hear the SAME question 30+ times in a day.
