My 2 1/2 year old son is still very attached to his pacifier. How can I get him to want to get rid of it?! He never has it throughout the day, its only for naps and bedtime. Its his comfort. What can I do?

Our son was very attached to his as well. Like your son he only used it at bed time. We ended up just taking our sons away from him. He asked for it a couple of times the day we took it away and then that was it. Have you tried just taking it away?

ETA: We told our son we gave his to his cousin Haven who was a baby at the time. He was cool with that.

Just take it away. It will get to be more difficult as time moves on. The first few nights may be rough, but once he realizes it is gone, he will be okay. You may be surprised and he he may not truly need it.

I agree with September, just take it away. Sure they will ask for it, but you tell them the truth and they will get over it.
