I have two beautiful boys (10,4) I work 8:30 - 5 and just finding it hard to get into a routine that works and to get some decent exercise. I can not afford to pay for a gym so need things I can do at home and possibly with my boys.
Any suggestions would be so so appreciated.

You can bike, rollerblade, or skateboard with them. My son is 10 too, and I've been biking and skateboarding with him since he was about 4 years old. Get a bike that doesn't have gears so that you are working harder--otherwise you'll leave the little one in the dust or spend your entire workout waiting for him to catch up. If your little one is too slow even if you have a bike without gears (there is a name for that, I just can't think of it right now) you could run while the kids bike, board, or skate. I am lucky to live in a very mountainous area with lots of great hills to climb for a good workout. We go biking about 3 times a week, and do about 15 miles each time.

We also like to hula hoop together. There was a chick doing classes here for a while--she taught dance moves and cool tricks. We really got into it, but then she left. We still go on Youtube and look up new tricks to try together. My son LOVES to hula hoop. and my husband thinks I look cool doing the dances. We hula hoop all the time--sometimes only 15 or 20 minutes while dinner is in the oven, sometimes we'll go for an hour or more. To get a good workout, you can't just stand still and hula hoop though, you have to try the tricks, dance, walk, and really move around.

Speaking of dancing.....DANCE! My son and I dance together often as well. We crank up the sound system and dance or work up a sweat cleaning the house (and sing while you do it--singing burns 10% more calories!!). I dance with my son for about 15 minutes every night while we clean the kitchen, and even longer on nights when we do the deeper cleaning, like windows, knobs, and such.
My husband and I also tend to choose dancing for our date nights rather than sitting still at a movie or play. There are lots of places here that offer live music to dance to, and lots of charities throw galas and balls where you can go to dance AND support a great cause. (mostly for grown ups though). If you are not married, go out with your girlfriends! You deserve a little you time :)
