Courts don't just give custody of a kid away to a non-parent without a VERY good reason. What was the reason you lost custody and what have you done to resolve the situation?

Thank y'all this is all so stressful and I feel completely alone. I'm not alone but inside it feels hopeless. I feel a little better though having other moms to talk to. Again thank you.

I agree with Amy. This is gonna need to be done through the courts. Unfortunately, him signing over his rights will make sure you don't receive any child support. Also, you can look into an injunction for him even seeing your child since he is no longer legally a parent. Do what you need to do, even it involves getting nasty. I know what I would do to get my child back.

You're going to have to go through the courts. You'll have to if you are being denied visitation and/or if you are filing for custody. Get an attorney and start the process.

Its a very twisted situation. At the time I was working at dollar general and barley able to support myself. And as far as him signing his rights over it was as easy as it is said. They asked him to and he said yes but that's there son so he didn't actually loose anything he still gets to see her. I think they have custody, but its not full custody cause I am SUPPOSE to have visitation and it takes an act of Congress to get one.

THere has to be more to the story. He cannot just sign his rights over to his parents. They would give the baby to the mom. What happened? Something more here.
