Hi, I have a 2-year old daughter who also has very specific taste in food and does not go beyond several types of jarred baby food and some regular food, like string cheese, veggie chips, animal crackers, pro bar. The reply given by a previous mom where she suggested that you stop offering the things she eats and give her other things is much easier in theory than in practice. We have tried it along with other methods and it did not work. When we did not give her the regular things she ate, she would cry her eyes out and reach for milk, because that's the only thing that would fill her up when really hungry. Plus, if you daughter is not above 50th percentile in weight, then it is hard not to have her eat for a week or so, because then she does not have that extra weight cushion to live off or and will start loosing weight. When my daughter, who weighs 26.75lbs at 2 years old, lost a pound due to a bad cold, it took her months to gain in back. So, I don't have any specific advice, as I am struggling myself with the same issue, but I would like to give you support, because there are plenty of mothers who are going through what you are going through and it seems that other mothers whose kids eat just fine do not understand the obstacles we face every day with feeding our children. How is your daughter doing now, are you doing anything new with her?

Because that is all you feed her. Take it away and only offer her what you want her to eat. She will not starve herself and will eventually eat what you want her too because she is hungry. Do not give into her fits, temper tantrums etc. stay tough and be her mother, it is what is best for her.
She should have been off the baby food by 10mo's old that is just silly.
