My daughter won't get up on time on school days. Every day we have to struggle to get her out of bed and to school on time. What approaches do other moms use that are effective in getting their kids out of bed on time?

well, then implement an earlier bedtime routine. Not a problem, just a change that sounds like it's needed.

Start implementing a solid bedtime routine and bedtime. My daughter is 9 and she needs to be up by 7:30 am at the latest in the mornings. Usually she wakes of her accord at about 7am. Her bedtime is 8:30 pm on school nights, although I am flexible on the weekends up to about 9:30. But I wouldn't deviate too much from that at all, except on a special occasion because she just gets tired. Children this age generally need about 10-11 hours sleep at night, so you can generally set a reasonable bedtime by counting backwards.

As I stated to the previous poster, she probably goes to bed too late, however, that too is a problem. Thank you for your input.

Thank you for your input. In retrospect she probably goes to bed too late. That is another problem.

It would help if you'd give more input...you've put the same question up twice, but no detail.

What time does the child go to bed? If she's not rising easily, it would make sense to make her bed time earlier.

What time does she go to bed? Maybe make her bedtime earlier so she is getting enough sleep.
