I made the mistake of letting my now 1yr & 4mnths old son go to sleep with his bottle. Now it's a huge struggle to get him to sleep and during the night whenever he wakes up, he wants his bottle before going to sleep again. This means that I haven't slept through the night since his birth! I'm exhausted!!! Please help! How do I get him off the bottle? He's my second child, but the first LOVED sleeping and I never had any problems with him.

I JUST got my 3 year old off of the bottle. It's soothing to them and remember they won't take it to college with them. Just wait a bit longer. I cut mine cold turkey and she never complained, but that was because she got to go on vacation. I wouldn't recommend that with him though, he's still young.

Personally I would just take it away and suffer through a few rough nights and be done with it. You could get him a new stuffed animal or soft blanket to replace it. Good luck!

Your best best, is to take it slow. It takes time and patience. My son is still on the bottle at 11 months. He refuses to take a sippy cup unless the lid is off. I am just allowing my son to wean himself when he is ready to. Its all depends on the child. Does he get the bottle during the day too?
