how do i get my year old to listen?

i am in some desperate need of advice... i have a 4 year old son that will be 5 in june and ever since he started jk in sept of last year i have noticed alot and i mean ALOT of changes in his attitude.... no matter what i try he will not listen i have tryed talking to him calmly i have tryed time outs but when i put him on a time out he wont even sit there he will just get right back up no matter how many times i put him back on the time out he will just keep getting back up he will scream kick hit and tell me to shut up and i am very discouraged and frustrated my husband has no problem with him he will listen to his dad the very first time i have 3 other children besides my 4 year old and he is the only one i have this problem with so please if anyone has any ideas or advice i would love to hear it...

You keep putting him back on the time-out until he's no longer screaming, kicking, hitting, and yelling at you. He CAN'T physically do it forever. The minute you let him off time out while he's doing that, that's the minute you have just let him know that it's okay to act that way. As Dr. Phil says (lol), "you do it UNTIL." There's no magic number of times you have to put him back on timeout. You do it until he stops.
