My daughter is almost 20 months & i think it's time to get rid of her dummy. Her 2 front teeth are starting to cross over, & being a dental assistant, i know that isn't a good sign. Does anyone have any ways of making this as painless as possible??

i chucked them all out one day when miss wasnt looking. kept one secretly hidden for just in case and when she asked for it i told her the fairies came and took them all away to give to all the new babies because she didnt need them anymore now that she had gotten to be such a big girl. she happily accepted it. only aked after them once or twice but just kept giving her the same answer and she just says okay mummy or but i liked my dummy. her dummy was her lah lah or security blanket. she was nearly 3 when i finally pried her off them

So far cutting the top off has been the best senario I have herd and has worked the best! I work in childcare so i have heard of hundreds of ideas! The one I though was sweet was a child putting them all into a bag and gave it to his friends mum Cos she was about to have a baby. He thought he was giving her a present and gave up his dummies at the same time.
But once you start stay strong no matter how hard, but she is still young it wont take more than a few days.
Good luck with it all.

It was suggested to me to cut the tip off. It don't give the same feeling when they suck on it.

With my son we i told him if he looses them there will be no more, so as he lost them I would toss them, when he had one left he held on to it all the time then one day it was gone, I never did find it.
