It is possible her writing skills are behind for her age and she needs to develop her fine motor skills. I agree that you need to turn off the TV, but also find fun activities for her to do that will develop her fine motor skills in her hands. Not only fun colouring activities, but also maybe things like dot-to-dot, mazes, anything requiring her to hold a pencil. Painting can help too. Also, consider activities such as lego and playing with playdough, building scultpures, making jewellery (eg. threading past on string). All of these use and further develop those fine motor skills in the hands. Even teach her some finger knitting (you can find videos on youtube), and if she is into it....and you can handle it, try the new loom band craze :).

Yes, she does need to do her homework, but it sounds like she may be more in need of some development in her fine motor muscles. I hope this has given you lots of ideas.

Enforce rules concerning homework and getting to play or watch tv like she can not do the fun stuff until she practices the writing.

Eric, perhaps you are showing your ignorance by not recognising that there is a strong possibility that the OP's first language is not English. Remember this is an international site. So be mindful of that when you post.

Well thank you very much. That was of great help to me. Your hint will help me improve a lot first.
That was very kind suggestion. I guess I was worried too much about my daughter where you just explained so easily.

I think it is very, very evident by your several postings where your daughter has learned her skills. Here is hint:

gud = good
u = you
tat = that
lil = little
n = and
differert = different
writin = writing
wat = what
understandin = understanding
b = be
too need = also need

If that doesn't explain well enough, maybe the problem is closer to home. How can you teach a child "gud" writing skills when your own are so severely hampered? You are supposed to be reinforcing what she learns at school. You are the parent. If you feel she spends too much time in front of the TV, tell her no. If she turns it on, turn it off. She will only get better and faster with repetition and practice.
