How do i keep going?

Me and my boyfriend are somewhat not on the same page of disipline. My 2 and 1/2 year old daughter is showing out. Hitting herself when she gets angry. Even sometimes hitting us. She has the vocab of a 4 year old and knows what to say to really hurt you. I try all dicipline to see what works for her. "time out chair, spanking, talking, take toys away..etc"

none of it works with her. I try to de-fuse the bomb when i noticed she is starting to fuss and get carried away so i distract her with something else. Not all the time does this work. My boyfriend is more of the "stick to spanking" type. Me, not so much. I believe you have to be creative when it comes to children.

im just not having any luck. sometimes i feel like i want to just give up. Especially when she tells me she doesnt love me. I know i cant put too much credability into what a 2 yr old say but its my child, how is that not going to hurt me?

to the moms out there who have been where im at, im asking for your help.

how do i get my sweet darling little girl back?

2 is just a preview to when she turns 3! Sorry I know that's not very encouraging but it's the truth. When she says what she says, ignore it and just say but I love you. If you let her know it bothers you and she gets a reaction from you the behavior will continue.

I don't think spanking is a good form of discipline because personally I feel it says "you're hitting me because you are mad, so I'm going to spank you back because you're not listening to me". Continue to use time outs and other forms of discipline, I personally find distraction the most effective.

I have a 2 1/2 year old son and he is the same way. I think its just the fact that they are 2 and its called the terrible twos for a reason!! You just have to grin and bare it and don't go out in public very much and take breaks where you can get them because if you don't you may rip every hair out of your head
