i just trained my daughter a few months ago, before she turned 2, bec she had an interest in it. but having the floor and everything else wet had driven me crazy and resulted to her hating potty and had constipation in the process. so i read some articles and got her back on diapers. when she had regular bowels again and I told myself to be patient and understanding.we tried it again. and in just 2 days, she is potty trained! only at home, though. but its better to take one step at the time.

I waited until my son was ready! He was 3 and a few months, My husband and i decided to let our kids grow up at their own pace and not pressure them into doing things they are not ready for. When he was ready. It only took a week to have him fully potty trained.

yes I agree with Kelly.
I tried a few times and treid teaching him, if they dont catch on straight away I dont think there ready. I even treid getting my husband to take him with him so he could watch and hoped he'd get interested even that didnt work so gave up. My son is now 2 and a half and 4 weeks ago I was at the park with a freiend who has a 4 year old and her son came up to her and sai he had to do wee so she took him to a tree and I said "im sorry sorry and say no if you want but do you mind if Kaiya watches"and she said no worries. from that moment on when we got home he said "mom wees ike latrel"and I was like oh my god. He had been wearing undies ever since home and out at shops everywhere and not one accident he tells me every time plus of corse more times even when he soesnt need to do anything but I tell people that I havnt even petty trained and I avnt he just started doing it from one moment and hasnt stopped. He wont even wee in his nappy at al cause I put one on him at night but he'll still wake up and tell me he has to do wees he wont do it in his nappy. So yeh my advice if you have any other children in your family or friends see if you can get your boy to watch (I knowit sounds wrong) but think when you have 2 kids they learn off eachother so just seeing another child do it and obviously your gotta make it exciting like"look kaiya look what latrels doing, wow isnt he a big boy doing wees"and your son will tell you when he's ready and man. IT IS SO EASY, i havnt had to teach him anything. good luck

Hey there...so just curious as to why you NEED to potty train? Because if it's not really a need, but a want, I would SOOOO recommend waiting until you KNOW your son is ready:) Why? SERIOUSLY easier and so much FASTER. I was a nanny before my daughter and have tried it many ways and nudging a little one into it, is more of training mommy, then the little one-so MUCH more work. Once they show all the signs, communicate that they understand about it-cold turkey from diapers is a great way. If you want more specifics-just ask:) BUT, I would totally wait, buy books to read about it, talk about it and when he starts showings signs then give it a go. If it doesnt work, no biggie, try again later. JUST EASIER:) promise!

My son took a bit, but it's just something they will or won't do, when they want. My husband got him to start thinking it was a game, who can make it to the bathroom first, to make it more interesting. The strange part is just what you've heard before, when they're ready. Good luck!
