How do I stop my 28 month old from crying at nite for a bottle?

I don't know. If I wake up thirsty I want to get a drink. How about instead of a bottle you leave a sippy cup of water with him?
Truth be told you can probably just go cold turkey with the bottle itself. Have him help you put them all in the garbage and take the garbage out. Mind you, before you do this find a sippy cup he likes. So many different tops to choose from finding the right one can take a little effort. Just explain it's time to be a big boy now. Only babies use bottles.

Was he use to falling asleep to the bottle? If he was my guess is that you just need to stick to your guns and not give in AT ALL. He has not learned how to self soothe, so he wakes out of habit. Then he can't put himself back to sleep. Once he learns that he won't get the bottle and figures out how to self soothe he will stop waking up. Just have to hang in there. It will be rough for a little bit, but if you don't give in it won't last very long. If you give in then it just makes the process longer and harder.
