I am a single mom of a 21 year old son. I constantly worry over him. People tell me I must go on living my life but I do not know how to stop this constant worry. I worry about worry. If he is home, I worry. The minute he leaves the house I sit by the window and worry. I think of every bad thing in the world that could possibly happen. Help! Any suggestions

What are you worried about? Is he making bad choices? If not, and your worrying is interfering with your life, it might be time for some professional help. it is normal for parents to worry about their kids, even when they are adults, but if it is a constant, ongoing thing, even when he is at home, I think maybe it is too much.

Since this worry is consuming your life I think it's time you enlist the help of a counselor or therapist to help you work through it, or at least develop coping mechanisms so that you can function,

Has he given you REASON to be this paranoid and worried over his safety? Either way,, I agree with the other ladies. Counseling may be in order, and possibly a great hobby.
