Easy. You set rules and curfews for your home. I have a 17 year old (his girlfriend is 18) and the rules are 10pm on weeknights, 12pm weekends and if someone is here at dinner time, unless he has asked in advance, then the answer is no. He is also expected to let me know in advance if he won't be home for dinner. If his girldfriend is here late, they must be quiet (and there is an open door policy, no closed doors) and respectful of other children in the house who are sleeping.

I'm not suggesting you need the same rules. But you need to establish some basic ground rules that work for your home. Basically, if he doesn't like them and doesn't agree, then he is welcome to have his own rules in his own home, but until that day, my home, my rules. The discussion is about respect for others.

Exactly what Jodi said. It's your house so you set the rules and just tell him. I don't understand why you need to ask how to tell them, your their parent.
