How do I transition my daughter to whole milk?

My daughter will be one next week. I have given her whole milk a few times and she loved it. Since she does like it, I was wondering if I still had to mix it with breast milk to transition her or if I could just give her the whole milk a few time a day in place of breast milk untill we have replaced with whole milk completely?

I transitioned my daughter gradually, taking about 5 days to do it completely. I started off offering 3/4 formula 1/4 cow's milk and gradually adjusted the proportions until she was at 100% whole milk. I did find that the important thing appeared to be offering it at the same temperature she was used to getting her formula milk at first. It took another few weeks to get her used to cool whole milk.

with my son i just switched completely from formula to cow's milk. if your daughter likes it and it doesn't seem to be giving her an upset stomach or diarrhea then i would just switch completely

I did a really slow transition with my formula-fed son, just because his stomach was sensitive. It took about 6 weeks. Your idea of giving it a few times a day in place of breast milk sounds like a good one.

I never mixed it. I just heated it and gave it to my daughter. I had to get her off breastmilk really quickly, so I couldn't do the transition. That does sound like the best option though.
