How do you cope as a working mom? :(

My Son is 21 months He is fussy whining and crying constantly! I work full time and have an older daughter (she is 9) so I feel it's an attention thing but I don't know how to resolve it. He has a great nanny that takes care of him during the day and he is social with other children and he is really good for her. I pick him up and with in 30 minutes of getting home he starts whining.. whining turns to crying turns to screaming and throwing himself on the floor. Once the tantrums start I will not condone that behavior so I will give him a few minutes to settle down. He is then put in a time out for a minute(each time he hits or throws or screams for a long period of time). I try to play with him while I'm preparing dinner, my daughter tries to play with him; he wants no part of it. It seems like no matter what i do or try if I'm not holding him and paying 100% to him only; the night will continue until bed time this way.
it then starts over at 4 am to 5am he wakes up every day. :(

It might just be his age, but maybe setting aside an entire weekend where you have nothing planned but spending time together as a family would help.

I think home is where we feel most comfortable; it's no different with children. So this is the place he feels he can let it all out. It won't last forever just keep telling yourself that. Maybe you need to set aside some time just for him and see if that helps. Good luck!
