How do you deal with being a single young parent????

I am 22 years old and just recently graduated from college. I will be having my first child in October and will most likely be a single mother. I am extremely excited to be a mother but I'm nervous knowing I will be doing this alone. I am just curious to know how others dealt with this situation. Thank you!

You just do it. I know there are so many people who complain about being a single parent but the truth is, it can be great.

You don't have to worry about parenting styles clashing- since there is no other style other than your own. You end up with an amazing relationship with your child since many times it's just the two of you.

Learn to accept help. Plain and simple when a family member offers to take the kid out for lunch- let them. I had no family so my neighbors and friends were the best. I had an old lady who lived next door to me. She offered to watch my kids in my house for half the price of a day care. She had company and i got a discount.

And on a side note- many younger single mothers make a horrible mistake of talking bad about the father. This can be a bad thing. As much as you might be angry, realize that anger is yours, not your child's. If all else fails avoid the subject lol.
