How do you get a nearly 4 year old to take a nap?

My daughter is almost 4 will be in 1 month exactly) and lately refuses to take a nap. We have set routine for the day and a set nap time but now that is not working. It is bad to the point where she will actually scream when asked told that it is naptime and then again when told it is time to go to sleep. Her attitude has also become an issue. Time outs don't work, warnings don't work, threats don't work and telling her our expectations does not work. What DOES work??????

DON'T make her take a nap. Tell her you still need your quiet time and that she needs to play quietly in her room until mommy comes in to get her from quiet time.

Her behavior reflects when she has not had a nap. There is a CLEAR difference in her behavior when she does and when she does not take a nap. Also she has a 7 month old brother that needs his sleep. We have tried giving her quiet time when the baby is sleeping, but that does not work.

My son stopped napping at 2 1/2, there were days that he would be cranky and he would either need to do a quiet activity or we would go to bed a little earlier.

If she doesn't want to nap why make her? Let her skip her nap. There are days that our 2 year old does not want to nap, so I don’t make him. Most children grow of naps; maybe she's grown out of hers.
